Sercalo's SW/SL devices are optical MEMS switches for fiber optic communication systems and submodules. The SW/SL achieve excellent repeatability and reliability. The highly reliable opto-mechanical MEMS switch passes Telcordia GR1221 qualification.
The SW switch is available as latching variant (SL), where a bistable suspension mechanism keeps the last selected state in power off. The momentary (non latching) type is not recommended for new designs.

Fast latching optical MEMS switch
The SL series are opto-mechanical latching switches for the most demanding applications in fiber optic communication networks such as Protection Switching, Reconfiguration and WDM.
The switch mechanism is latching and has a very fast response time below 1 ms and only 0.5 dB insertion loss. The miniature package withstands rugged environments and is well suited for direct mounting on printed circuit boards. The switch is qualified according to Telcordia GR1221. An momentary (non latching) SN variant of this switch is available on demand.

Fast momentary optical MEMS switch
The SW series are our fastest MEMS switches and achieve a switching time below 1ms and cycling rates up to 1kHz. These switches are available in single mode and multimode variants. Typical applications are are high end instrumentation, airplanes and biomedical devices.
